About

The 2025 AGM of the FNCI was held on 30 April 2025 in the Irish Architectural Archive. This was the final AGM presided over by out-going President Dr John Turpin, and his contribution to the FNCI over his term, especially during the Centenary Year of 2024, was warmly appreciated by the meeting.

The AGM was followed by an excellent lecture by Dr David Caron entitled ‘Sarah Purser and An Tuar Glaoine’. Dr Caron is the editor of the Gazetteer of Irish Stained Glass and author of Michael Healy 1873-1941, An Tur Glaoine’s Stained Glass Pioneer (2023). He has another book forthcoming this year, Dublin Stained Glass- a guide to the finest twentieth-century stained glass. He has a PhD from TCD and was for many years Head of Visual Communication at NCAD. He is a leading authority on Irish stained glass. An Tur Glaoine was the studio where A.E. Child, Michael Healy, Wilhelmena Geddes, Catherine O’Brien and Evie Hone produced some of the finest Irish stained glass for commissions from Ireland, the UK and North America.

The lecture was followed by a wine reception.
