Sylvia Cooke-Collis was an Irish painter born in Cork. She studied at the Crawford Municipal School of Art and later under Mainie Jellet in Dublin.
In 1936 Cooke-Collis began exhibiting with the Watercolour Society of Ireland and had solo exhibitions with the Dublin Painters Society and Grafton Gallery. The artist worked mostly in oil and gouache, Cork scenes dominated her works but she also painted in Kerry and Connemara, which featured figure subjects, landscapes, seascapes, fantasies and decorative compositions.
