Patrick Graham studied at the National College of Art and Design, Dublin. His practice is driven by his personal experiences of religious and sexual repression as well as political mismanagement. Graham’s style is gestural and expressive and integrates personal symbols and text. His paintings are often large and the canvases can be slashed and heavily worked.
Graham has exhibited in Ireland and internationally and a major retrospective of his work took place in Los Angeles in 2002. Graham is an elected member of Aosdána.
