Hone, Nathaniel the Elder

Biography

Nathaniel Hone RA was an Irish-born portrait and miniature painter, and one of the founder members of the Royal Academy in 1768.

He was the first native artist to introduce the influence of 19th century French Naturalism to Irish painting.
