Portrait of Kenneth Hall by Basil Ivan Rakoczi (1908-1979)
Kenneth Hall was a British modernist painter best known for co-founding the White Stag Group with Basil Rakoczi, an influential movement that brought avant-garde and surrealist ideas to Ireland during the 1930s and 40s.
Largely self-taught as a painter, he originally studied furniture design and interior decoration in London.
Many of his pieces are held in prestigious collections, including the Irish Museum of Modern Art (IMMA) and the Ulster Museum.
